Character Education

Project Pay It Forward inspires youth volunteerism through character education curriculum and enriching educational materials, resources and platforms to encourage youth participation and involvement in the community. Our curriculum fosters positive youth development by educating youth on important character traits such as altruism, empathy, kindness, caring, citizenship and more.

Why is Character Education so important? In addition to reinforcing positive youth behaviors, promoting youth success in academics and social interactions, building decision-making and problem-solving skills and becoming responsible citizens, character education is a proactive way of helping at-risk youth. Character education can prevent school violence, bullying and drug problems. Without character education, youth are more likely to get involved with negative behaviors, have a lower interest in academics, lower self-esteem, lack of respect and loss of empathy towards others.
